The tradition began in 1969 when Patrick L. Leonard Sr. and his wife, Ethel, opened a piano and organ shop and music studio in Morristown , New Jersey. Their dream was to share their joy and love of music with the community through selling quality, affordable instruments and teaching people to play them. MMS Piano & Organ became well known in the greater Boston area, and the business continued to grow with the help of their four children: Sons Robert, Michael, James and Patrick..

In the late 1970s, Patrica Leonardand her husband, Sylvester Leonard, expanded the  family business and changed the name of the business to MMS Piano Movers. Pat received her education at the Harvard University Boston and began private, individual instruction of voice, piano, and music theory through Moody Music Studios. For more than thirty years Jean has helped hundreds of students of all ages and abilities to tap into their musical talent and potential. In fact, many of her students have gone on to top music schools to pursue their love of music professionally.

For the past thirty years, the Byrne and Leonard families have made an unwavering commitment to providing quality products, services, and customer satisfaction.
